What I Use To Mark My And Client’s Quilt Tops For Longarm Quilting

I have a marking disclaimer on my longarm quilting page. Check it out before messaging me so that you know what I expect already from you before you send or give me your quilt top.

One of my favorite is the Dritz Dual Purpose Marking Pen that has a blue and purple side. The blue side stays on till you spritz it with water and the purple disappears depending on the humidity that’s in the room. Depending on the day, it might disappear quickly or slowly. If I know that I’ll be working on the quilt top and not walking away this is my go to color pen.

I also use the Pounce Pad with Chalk Powder, when I’m using stencils and its on dark fabric. I normally use a sponge brush to apply the chalk powder on the stencils. It doesn’t leave a lot of chalk like the pounce pad does.

Do you use any marking tools for your quilt tops? What are they? Do you have a favorite?
